The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is trying to put up a massive card for UFC 200 this July and it might again be headlined by current featherweight champion Conor McGregor and top lightweight contender Nate Diaz.

Earlier this month, McGregor and Diaz met in the octagon in the welterweight (170 pounds) division at UFC 196 and the fighter from California emerged victorious. Diaz shut down the hype train by submitting McGregor via a rear-naked choke in the second round, handing the Irish his first loss in the promotion.

Despite the fight ending quickly, the two gave the fans a great show, especially during their stand up exchanges, something that might happen again this July at UFC's much anticipated event.

Recently it was reported that a rematch is already in the works for UFC 200. Now it is just a matter of signatures, as Ariel Helwani stated in the Monday episode of The MMA Hour, that contracts for the second meeting were already handed to McGregor and Diaz.

Helwani added that, according to sources, the rematch between the two will remain in the welterweight division.

McGregor originally competes and is the best in the featherweight division (140 pounds), two weight classes lower than where he fought Diaz, which many believe was a major factor to him losing.

Despite that, Helwani said the 27-year-old from Ireland wants the "same circumstances, the same rules, the same stipulations" when he avenges the defeat to Diaz.

McGregor was gunning for history at UFC 196 by becoming the first fighter in the company to hold multiple titles in different divisions simultaneously. But a few days before the fight, lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos pulled out due to a foot injury and Diaz was seen as the perfect replacement.

UFC president Dana White then lauded McGregor for accepting the Diaz fight and not taking down the entire card just because his original opponent was unable to compete.
