Criminal Minds has been renewed for a tenth season, with the last season ending in a relief with Reid's certainty to survive.

Though there haven't been any major details on how the 10th season of the long-running CBS crime drama will play out, fans are excited to find out which characters will return. One character that fans wish to see again is Diana Reid, Spencer's mother, played by comedian Jane Lynch.

The show's producer, Erika Messner, talked to TVGuide for an interview, and revealed that she wants Lynch back on the series.

"I really want to get Jane back again," says an enthusiastic Messner in the said interview. Lynch appeared in seasons one, two, and four of Criminal Minds. Lynch is said to be working on the last season of the hit show Glee, where she plays Sue Sylvester.

"This will be interesting to see how we pull that off and if it's right away. Because Glee's in its final season, maybe it's something we can't get to until later in the year," added the show runner," added Messner

As for the story lines that will be explored in season 10, Messner admitted that the plans haven't been really solid up to this point.

"There's a version where we pick up the next day. There's a version where we pick up and summertime's gone by just like in real life, so I don't know yet," admits Messner. The producer then went on to describe the dynamics of the writers that make their plots interesting.

"We're just unplugging from the show in the next few weeks and the beauty of that is when the writers get back together, we can say, 'I thought of this. What do you think?' We had such an amazing year," explained Messner in the same interview.
