Dallas Mavericks trade rumors 2016: 76ers' Nerlens Noel an upgrade at center?

Since winning it all in 2011, the Dallas Mavericks have struggled to repeat the same success they had during that year. Perhaps what they need is a game changer that will have an immediate impact and the Philadelphia 76ers' Nerlens Noel fits the bill.

When the Mavs captured the championship in the 2010-11 season, they had a complete team. Surprisingly after that run, the group was disbanded and this started the downfall for them.

One of the crucial players that was disposed following that title bid was center Tyson Chandler.

Since Chandler's departure, the Mavericks have had a hard time finding a player at the no. 5 position capable of helping them again become title contenders. Even when he came back to the Big D, it was never quite the same.

Perhaps what the Mavericks need to ascend is a center that complements the games of their guards and other big men.

Indeed, Dallas landed Andrew Bogut in the off-season, but even the latter struggled last season with the Golden State Warriors and it is unseen what he can do for his new squad.

A possible option for the Mavs if they are looking for a center that quickly makes an impact is Noel. The youngster is a defensive stalwart, and in the 2015-16 season, he made great strides in his scoring.

Noel is only 22 years old and he will still develop, something the Mavericks should consider.

If ever the Mavericks pull the trigger on this one, a package deal that includes guard/forward Justin Anderson, veteran point guard Devin Harris, plus future first-rounders might work.

The 76ers may give in fast because it is believed that they are not asking much for Noel. All they want is to end the problem of having a lot of front line players that may trouble them when it comes to rotation.
