Backstreet's back, alright. After venturing into the movie-making business with his zombie film "Dead 7," Nick Carter is now going back to his dancing roots by joining season 21 of the ABC reality dancing competition, "Dancing with the Stars."

Carter has just been confirmed as an official cast for the upcoming season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." The news was all over the web last Wednesday, with the official DWTS Twitter account, the Backstreet Boys' official Facebook, and Nick Carter's personal website making the announcement.

The 35-year-old Backstreet Boys said he's excited to show his fans his moves on the show. In fact, he started doing so in a "DWTS" promotional video, where he shows off his Nae Nae moves. He also reminded fans of his own dancing days as a Backstreet Boy by tweeting a 20-second clip showing off the group's various music videos, concerts, and even movie appearances. He captioned it, "You ain't seen nothing yet. #DWTS @DancingABC #NickCarterDWTS"

Carter will be the first Backstreet Boy and the second Carter to grace the show. His younger brother, Aaron, appeared in season nine and finished fifth with his partner, the season 21-comeback professional dancer, Karina Smirnoff.

ABC had been slowly dropping cast names for the dancing show on "Good Morning America." Also already confirmed for "DWTS" season 21 are Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi Irwin, and jockey, Victor Espinoza. The final season 21 cast will be unveiled on Sept. 2, just 12 days before it premieres.

The popular reality dancing competition pairs off celebrities with professional dancers and couples compete each week in a dance-off. Each pair is ranked via judges' points plus audience votes, with the lowest-ranked pair getting eliminated. The final four pairs compete during the last week, with the top three vying for the Mirror Ball trophy in the last dance-off.

"Dancing with the Stars" season 21 starts its Mirror Ball Trophy dance-offs this Sept. 14.
