Originally scheduled to come out on Oct. 25, "Dark Souls 3" players will now be able to see all that the "Ashes of Ariandel" downloadable content (DLC) pack has to offer a day earlier than expected.

A few days ago, numerous Xbox One owners reported that they could already download the add-on via the console's store, which should not have been possible at the time.

Following this discovery, GameSpot reached out to Bandai Namco in search of more clarification regarding the issue. Bandai Namco responded, and revealed that the add-on going live earlier than expected was "due to a logistical error."

The error has since been addressed, but it has already had an impact on the arrival of the "Ashes of Ariandel" DLC pack, and it's one that players will likely welcome.

As Bandai Namco told the website, the new add-on's release has now been moved up by a day, meaning both PC, PS4 and Xbox One players can now get it today.

Once the add-on officially goes live via Steam as well as the PlayStation and Xbox stores, "Dark Souls 3" players will be able to explore a new realm simultaneously covered in ice and filled with evil. The evil that players can see will come in the form of new, monstrous foes.

In order to vanquish these new embodiments of evil, players will be given access to new weapons and magic spells to slay them as well as additional pieces of equipment that can protect from their attacks.

Other multiplayer components will also be added to the game via the new DLC pack.

Players who are interested in getting "Ashes of Ariandel" can purchase it for $14.99 or get it as part of the game's $24.99 season pass.

Apart from "Ashes of Ariandel," a second expansion pack is set to be released for "Dark Souls 3" sometime early next year.
