Yesterday the internet was afire with the rumor that the next installment in the Dark Souls gaming franchise "Dark souls 3" would be unveiled during the upcoming E3 gaming conference.

The rumor about the game's unveiling originated from VG247 and the website stated that "a source familiar with the game" had provided information about it. The source also hinted that Hidetaka Miyazaki the designer and director of "Demon's Souls", the first game in the "Dark Souls" franchise, and most recently the super popular game "Bloodborne" would be heading the development of "Dark Souls 3". Miyazaki was also involved in the creation of the second Dark Souls game but only as a supervisor and the game itself was helmed by Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura.

The rumor around the unveiling of "Dark Souls 3" was greeted with surprise by many fans and gaming sites as From Software the developer is currently involved in creating an expansion pack for "Bloodborne" which has proved to be as successful as other games created by Miyazaki.

Recently "Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin" was released and it included all the DLC content and patches that the second game got and it also featured remastered content in a port for current generation consoles such as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

With "Bloodborne" enjoying immense success and getting a ton of critical acclaim fans are eagerly hoping that the rumor about "Dark Souls 3" turns out to be true. If there is any truth to it, it is expected that more news will be released by From Software and Bandai Namco during Sony's conference in E3 which is due to take place on June 15th.

Forbes also states that Sony could convert the upcoming "Dark Souls 3" game into an exclusive game for the PlayStation 4 as the company was bolstered by the success of the PS4 exclusive game "Bloodborne".
