A new gameplay trailer has been released for the first downloadable content (DLC) of "Dark Souls 3" titled "Ashes of Ariandel." A new boss was also shown before the trailer ended and an intense battle was presented between the main protagonist and the powerful enemy.

According to reports, the new location of the DLC pack is similar to the Painted World of Ariamis which was featured in the first installment of the franchise. However, it is still unknown if Ariandel is connected to the Painted World and this is something that might be explained once the developer of the game, From Software, announces new details about "Ashes of Ariandel."

The new expansion pack was described by publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment before. According to the company, "Players will find themselves steeped in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, challenges, and exciting lore to expand the overarching Dark Souls 3 storyline."

The new trailer features the main protagonist traveling along the harsh landscape of Ariandel and it can also be seen that there are new enemies to battle in the upcoming expansion. The gameplay video is titled "Divert Thine Eyes" and it gives fans a taste of how the new stage will look like.

The video features some intense encounters with big opponents that are equipped with battle axes. According to Gamespot, there was also a scene that featured a fiend crawling towards the protagonist, but was eliminated with the use of fire.

Near the end of the video, the main character encounters one of the bosses in the DLC and before they battle, a voice is heard saying, "Avert thine eyes." The boss is seen holding a death scythe, but the built of her body is not that big. She also seems to be faster which makes it more challenging for players to defeat her.

This is the first DLC for "Dark Souls III" and more is expected to come out in the future. The DLC pack for the PS4 will cost $15, but players can also opt for the season pass which is priced at $25.

"Ashes of Ariandel" is expected to be released on Oct. 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
