'Darksiders II' cheats, gameplay: 'Deathinitive Edition' added to game

(Nordic Games)Poster for 'Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition'

In the beginning of this year, there were hints that the game "Darksiders II" would be getting a definitive edition and it would be named the "Deathinitive Edition" to honor the main playable character Death. The hint arrived via a page on Amazon for the game which was subsequently taken down, but since then the definitive edition has been confirmed by the developer Nordic Games.

Importantly, when the page on Amazon went live earlier in the year it pointed towards the remastered edition arriving on the PlayStation 4 and there was no news about it releasing for the Xbox One. However, news that a definitive edition was in the works enthused many fans of the game which released to much critical praise in 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

However, the popularity of the game did not result in good sales and it led the publisher THQ into bankruptcy the following year. Subsequently the rights to the game were sold along with many others to Nordic Games and the company had stated that it did not plan spend as much money as THQ did on developing the sequel.

With the news of the definitive edition arriving earlier this year, it seems that Nordic Games has decided to give the game another chance. As for the price of the upcoming game it is pegged at $39.99 and the Amazon page indicated that the definitive edition will feature all the DLC content that had been released so far with graphics that have been remastered.

The official confirmation of the "Deathinitive Edition" is being seen by many as an attempt by Nordic Games to check if there is still interest in the gaming franchise. If the upcoming definitive edition does well it could lead to Nordic Games creating a sequel to the game.
