Dell has come up with a successor to its slim 8-inch Venue 8 7000 in the form of a bigger 10-inch Venue 10 7000, featuring an OLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution.

Dell Venue 10 7000 shares the same design as its predecessor, with an aluminum construction and thin 6.2mm profile, but sports a more traditional bezel design. The new tablet is powered by the same quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 Moorefield processor in the Dell Venue 8 7000, along with 2GB of RAM. The Dell Venue 10 7000 comes in two storage models: 16GB and 32GB, though the latter variant will be available only in the U.S. and Canada. The Dell Venue 10 7000 provides a microSD card slot for expanding its memory up to 512GB.

The Dell Venue 10 7000 has a 8-megapixel Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera comprised of three cameras on the back, with the same depth camera as featured in the Dell Venue 8 7000, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The battery size of the Dell Venue 10 7000 has been upped significantly from 5,900mAh in the Dell Venue 8 7000 to 7,000mAh.

One noticeable feature about the Dell Venue 10 7000 is the titanium cylinder along its side that houses the battery and stereo speakers. The bulky part of the tablet has a "barrel edge" hinge that connects to an optional keyboard, thus turning the tablet into a laptop of sorts. The titanium cylinder attached to one side of the tablet acts as a sizable grip for one-handed use and can be used to prop the tablet slantingly on a table, while housing the front-facing speakers. With the Venue 10 7000, Dell has come up with a tablet with a strong magnetic connection to its keyboard and good balance between tablet and keyboard to eliminate  stability issues.

The Dell Venue 10 7000 will be available for sale at a price of $499 without the keyboard, while the add-on will cost an additional $130.
