Denver Nuggets trade rumors 2016: Kenneth Faried remains a trade piece?

No one is safe from being traded, not even a face of the franchise like forward Kenneth Faried who is still on the trade market with the 2016-17 National Basketball Association (NBA) season nearing.

This was reported by ESPN, which mentioned that the Nuggets have been trying to deal away Faried for years now.

Faried was a regular in the rumor mill during the off-season, and with this recent information being revealed, it is likely for him to stay there longer. The Nuggets could really get something big for the experienced 26-year-old who provides energy and hustle on the court.

Denver may acquire young talents in exchange for Faried, or if he is included in a package deal, the team may get a star player who can make the franchise significant again. If the Nuggets aim to rebuild while remaining competitive, some future picks for him may also work.

Faried would be a great addition to any team since he is an efficient contributor on both ends of the floor. Last season, in 67 games (64 starts) for Denver, he averaged 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, with 1.2 assists per outing.

If he is such a great player, then why are the Nuggets aiming to part ways with him?

Perhaps these are the reasons why the Nuggets want to say goodbye to Faried. First is that they are getting younger, like the other squads in the league. For these developing talents to emerge and thrive, some veterans must go to give way. Second is even if he is an efficient all-around player, the success they achieved with him is unimpressive.

The Nuggets selected Faried 22nd overall in the 2011 draft. In his first two years, they made it to the playoffs but both runs saw them exit in the first round. The last three years have been a postseason drought and changes, including him, might be required to end this slump.
