'Destiny' news: Find out what the 2016 edition of the Festival of the Lost will feature

(Bungie)Festival of the Lost rumored to start on Oct. 25 inside 'Destiny: Rise of Iron'

Just like last year, "Destiny" players will be able to celebrate the spookiest of holidays in style as the 2016 edition of the Festival of the Lost has now been made official.

Developers gave fans a quick preview of the upcoming event in a recently released trailer.

The trailer touches on what players should expect to see added to the game courtesy of the upcoming event, including old and new masks.

Notably, last year's edition of the event introduced both rare and legendary masks, the latter of which were permanent additions. It's still unclear if this year's Festival of the Lost will also offer a selection of both rare and legendary masks.

New Gifts of the Lost as well as emotes, emblems and shaders will also be made available to players once the event gets underway. Additional weapon ornaments are also coming to the game.

Apart from the items, the upcoming "Destiny" event will also provide players with special festival-themed quests to complete. Over on Reddit, user "TheDrock21" listed some of the quests that may go live as part of the event.

Players will reportedly be able to take on at least 11 different quests. These are: A Brilliant Idea, Deeds of Fire, Find Another Audience, Lethal Masquerade, Mask Task, Return to Eva Levante, Speak to Eva Levante, Talk to Eva Levante, Team Effort, Touring the Tower and Triumphant Return.

In a new post on the Activision blog, the developer shared that the Tower, the Reef and the Iron Temple will be changed a bit during the duration of the event. Crucible matches will also take place at night while the event is going on.

More details about this year's Festival of the Lost are expected to be shared soon, and "Destiny" players can look forward to taking part in it starting Oct. 25.
