'Destiny: Rise of Iron' DLC release date September 20; focus now on PvP and PvE gameplay

(Destiny)"Destiny: Rise of Iron" will no longer be available to legacy consoles come September 20.

It was already made known to "Destiny" fans that the forthcoming downloadable content (DLC) of the game "Destiny" which is dubbed as "Rise of Iron" will be dished out by Bungie this September 20. Nonetheless, the game developer added that the new DLC will not just heavily center on the game's player versus player (PvP) mode, but also its player versus enemy (PvE) gameplay.

"Destiny: Rise of Iron's" executive producer Scott Taylor sat down with PlayStation LifeStyle and discussed the upcoming game's expansion. When asked what will the new expansion do to the title, Taylor replied that the game is ever-changing and that with each expansion released, it tries to make the title the best it can get. He further explained that the next segment of the game will promise to add new battle gears, weapons and the so-called exotics.

Moreover, Taylor also boasted the return of the classic Iron Gjallahorn. He explained that if players will pre-order the new expansion, they will get the weapon instantly at the beginning of the game.

PlayStation LifeStyle then asked about new foes that players will face. Taylor mentioned about enemy soldiers called the "Fallen" and "Devil Splicers" in which he said that the "Devil Splicers" are altered versions of the "Fallen." He added that these mentioned enemies may look almost the same, but he assured fans that they will be amazed by what these "Devil Splicers" can do.

Furthermore, it was previously reported that come September 20, the upcoming segment will no longer be available for legacy consoles, namely the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. These mentioned consoles can still resume playing "Destiny: The Taken King," but the players of these consoles will no longer be receiving future DLCs, upcoming events, and access to Bungie.net. In addition, the game developer even suggests that players with legacy consoles consider upgrading their current consoles to continue playing an updated "Destiny" game.
