With the upcoming "Star Wars" film due to premiere in December and an associated game to be release in November, there have been a number of manufacturers creating merchandise to complement the film and game.

However, the costliest so far has been the recently announced "Star Wars" watch from Devon, which has a price tag of $28,500. It comes with hand crafted detailing modeled on Darth Vader's helmet and cufflinks fashioned after a TIE fighter.

Announcing the device, Devon Works, which is famous for its luxury watches, took to its website and said that it would be available for pre-order starting next month. However, customers who want to place an order for the "Star Wars" watch will have to initially deposit $2500 before the company starts the process of building the watch. After the device has been tested as part of quality control, the customer will receive a notification email and he or she will have to pay the rest of the amount within five days.

Also, Devon Works made it clear that it only plans to build about 500 pieces of the watch, which is based on a Thread 1 model offered by the company. What sets the Star Wars watch apart, however, from the Thread 1 is the additional detailing on it, including wings of a TIE Fighter and an Imperial Crest.

The hardware of the device is also exceptional and CNET states that it comes with nylon belts, four motors, a microprocessor, ruby bearings and a lithium-polymer battery that can power the device for two weeks. The watch is composed of 350 components. It comes encased in a stainless steel body that is about 66.3 mm high and coated with a material that is akin to black diamond.

The watch will be delivered to customers in a specially designed box modeled after a TIE Fighter and will also come with cuff links featuring the same design.
