Disney Interactive has announced that Ronan, Loki and Green Goblin will take the helm as super villains in the upcoming 'Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes' (2.0 Edition) that will be released on September 18 in Australia and New Zealand, and September 23 in the United States.

"Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy, Green Goblin from Spider-Man, and Loki, God of Mischief from The Avengers have just been revealed as playable characters. Each will be playable in their respective Play Sets, the 2.0 Toy Box, and structured Toy Box Games."

The three scoundrels are popular among moviegoers.

As Disney just got "super-powered," expect all-time favorite Marvel superheroes such as The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Spiderman to be included in the roster of the second edition.

The introduction of Marvel characters is a strategy to make the "toy-to-life" series appeal to a broader audience.

"We've added in a whole variety of side-quests and missions in the Play Sets so that gamers can tackle new tasks away from the storyline," says executive producer, John Vignocchi. "This all takes place in some of the biggest cityscapes we've ever created – the city in The Avengers play set is four times bigger than the city from The Incredibles play set in Disney Infinity, for instance."

During the recent San Diego Comic-Con International, Disney also confirmed the arrival of Guardians of Galaxy playset in Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes.

Playable characters include Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Gamora and Groot.

Pre-order of Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) Starter Pack is now on-going.

The Starter Pack includes video game classic disc, base, 3 Marvel superheroes action figure (Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow), 1 Marvel's The Avengers play set, 2 Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) Toy Box Games and unique web code to unlock Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) online content.
