The Disney Infinity 2.0 release date is scheduled for a Tuesday, Sept. 23, launch across North America for PS4, PS3, PS Vita Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. 

As the game readies for its market entrée, media pundits are already giving early reviews based on the recent gameplay trailer.

The inclusion of the well-loved Marvel superheroes will arguably provide the biggest push for the franchise.

"Disney Infinity 2.0 is a complicated beast, and easy to write off as a money grab for this lucrative new market created by Skylanders. However, see the game in the hands on young players and the different pieces fit together coherently," Andy Robertson of The Guardian wrote.

Marvel goodness and characters upgrade are seen as big factors why Disney Infinity 2.0 will sell across different age groups, according to Forbes.

"The overall delivery feels elegant and well thought through. This is by no means a cheap game to get into, whether you are a mature Marvel fan or younger gamer, but there is plenty of value to be found in each and every purchase."

There have been quite a number of snippets teasing fans as to which characters will actually be playable.

Finally, all 21 superheroes and super villains were revealed a few days before the release.

The roster includes fan favorites like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Cap (Steve Rogers), Spidey (Peter Parker), Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Loki and Guardians of the Galaxy members Star Lord (Peter Quill), Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

Yondu, Falcon, Green Goblin, Ronan the Accuser, Venom, Nova, Iron Fist, Gamora and Drax complete the entire cast of Marvel characters.

There are two Starter Packs that one can choose from: Marvel Super Heroes Video Game and Toy Box.

Enclosed in Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes starter pack is: 1 Disney Infinity 2.0 edition video game, 1 base, 3 Marvel Super Heroes figures (Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow), 2 Marvel Super Heroes Toy Box game discs, 1 Marvel's Avengers Play Set piece, 1 web code card and a poster.
