An updated polling data published by Real Clear Politics shows that Republican presidentiable Donald Trump has taken the lead from Democrat presidentiable Hillary Clinton.

The data is based on the average of the surveys done from May 13 to May 19. The survey figures were based on published surveys on CBS News/NY Times between May 13 and May 17, which show Clinton with a six percentage lead; FOX News between May 14 and May 17, which show Trump with a three percentage lea; Rasmussen Reports between May 17 and May 18, which show Trump with a five percentage lead; NBC News/Wall Street Journal between May 15 and May 19, which show Clinton with a three percentage lead; and ABC News/Wash Post between May 16 and May 19, which show Trump with a two percentage lead.

The data shows that out of a combined number of 4,959 random prospective voters asked from five different surveys, an average of 43.4 percent are for Trump, while an average of 43.2 percent are for Clinton. The result is a 0.2 percentage lead in Trump's favor.

Clinton has been receiving less than 50 percent approval ratings and Trump has been receiving an even lower percentage score. Despite bad publicity thrown in Trump's way, his rise to being the forerunner in the coming elections has been steady.

The Republicans have been at odds with each other for some time going into elections 2016. It was not until early this month when Trump became the Republican's presumptive candidate for President. It was only on May 4 when Governor John Kasich of Ohio withdrew his bid to be the Republican's standard bearer. This development is expected to increase Trump's lead over Clinton even more as the party is seemingly on their way to unity.

On the Democratic side, the party has yet to choose between Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders.
