Donald Trump news: US president-elect tweets disturbing claims about illegal votes

(Reuters / Aaron P. Bernstein)US President-elect alleges millions voted illegally.

Donald Trump has already won the US Presidential elections. But in a bizarre move, the President-elect claims on Twitter that he would have also won the popular vote, if they deduct the millions who voted illegally. As expected, his assertion has once again caused conflict on an already divided nation.

There's no question that the 2016 US Presidential Elections was unlike anything the country has experienced. It was certainly the most colorful, vicious, and highly contested. But even though Donald Trump has been declared the winner, the president-elect still appears to have a beef with the election process.

The Republican candidate once again took to Twitter to voice out his thoughts and complaints after news surfaced that Jill Stein's Green Party has already accumulated millions in donations for a recount in Wisconsin and that Hillary Clinton's campaign will be participating.

In a strange tweet, the President-elect claims that not only did he win the Electoral College "in a landslide," but that he would also have won the popular vote "if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally." However, he didn't provide any proof to back up his claim.

The tweet immediately caused a flurry of comments from citizens who pointed out how unpresidential he was acting, as well as demands from journalists and politicians who wanted to be shown proof of his allegations. The tirade was followed by more tweets about "serious voter fraud in Virginia, New Hampshire and California" and complaints that the media wasn't reporting it.

A tweetstorm coming from Trump is par for the course. Over the years, the businessman has regularly sparred with opponents on Twitter. But it's different now that he's the US President-elect. As numerous sectors have pointed out, not only is he disseminating false information, he's also negating the results of the election. An election that he has already won.
