A couple of photos from the new season of 'Downton Abbey' have been released, suggesting certain plots and story arcs that will unfold in season 5.

The photos were first published on the show's official Instagram page. The first photo is of Tom Branson, played by actor Allen Leech, and his daughter Sybbie. The next photo shows Lady Mary Crawley's son George looked after by a maid.

It is noticeable that the first two images from the next season goes in relation with the show's recent widowers. Tom Branson unfortunately lost his wife, Lady Sybil Branson, just moments after the birth of their daughter Sybbie.

On the other hand, Lady Mary Crawley became a widow after she lost her husband, Matthew, in a fatal car crash.

The photos suggest the new season will explore the 'tragedies' and grieving processes of both Tom and Mary Crawley, which could be in total contrast to each other.

While Tom is seen posing with her daughter in the released photo, Mary Crawley seems to be absent as George cozies up with a maid to care for him.

George is the heir to the entire Downton Abbey Estate, and Mary Crawley's return will definitely be an important aspect of the boy's life.
