'Dr. Strange' movie spoilers: Benedict Cumberbatch is Doctor Strange

Leaked photos of on-set footage reveal that Benedict Cumberbatch will indeed play the sorcerer in the movie adaptation of the Marvel superhero, Doctor Strange.

The leaked photos were shown on Twitter by Anything Cumberbatch, showing the actor clad in Dr. Strange's costume along with some shots of various scenes in the movie.

It turned out that the stills were from an amateur video leaked on YouTube by Sanford Dickert. In the video, Dickert was trying his best to explain what was going on in the scene below.

He mentions in the video that he noticed that they were trying to re-create a portion of London into Upper East Side New York. After observing for some time, he realized what movie was being filmed.

The scenes show Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange and also an actor wearing a yellow costume believed to be Doctor Strange's master, the Ancient One.

Tilda Swinton has already been confirmed to play the Ancient One. Her role has never been without controversy. In an image on Twitter, Swinton's photo wearing the Ancient One costume has been placed side by side with the illustrated image of the character with the caption, "Marvel tries to explain away their whitewashing of 'Doctor Strange' Ancient One."

Marvel's decision of making the Ancient One an androgynous of Caucasian origins has raised the ire of many Doctor Strange fans. However, Marvel explained their decision, saying that they have never been afraid to change the characters as they did with Jarvis in "Iron Man."

Aside from Doctor Strange and the Ancient One, the video clip also shows Chiwetel Ejiofor as Doctor Strange's nemesis, Baron Mordo. This confirms that Baron Mordo and Dr. Strange will go head-to-head against each other.

Additional rumors from Movie News Guide say that Rachel McAdams might play the role of Night Nurse/Christine Palmer. If this happens, her role will establish the connection between Netflix series "Daredevil," "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist," and "Jessica Jones."
