Episode 47 of "Dragon Ball Super" is shaping up to be the Future Trunks arc as the recent preview shows him returning to give aid to Goku and the rest of the crew against another threat.

From the two animated movies, "Battle of the Gods" and "Resurrection F," the Future Trunks saga will move "Dragon Ball Super" into a new territory.

In an interview with "Dragon Ball Super" manga adaptation artist Toyotaro, "Dragon Ball" creator Akira Toriyama was quoted, "Next up in Dragon Ball Super, adult Trunks will be putting in his first appearance in a long time! I put together this story based on a suggestion from the editorial office. Like last time, I write an outline of the entire plot, then the script writers break it up into episodes, expanding on things, changing things around, or adding in new bits as need be."

He added that it's a battle that will surpass time and space, and will drag in the God of Destruction, Kaioshin, and even Omni-King. He further explained that many secrets will be revealed.

As aforementioned, episode 47 will show Trunks' return, and this time, he and the others will be facing a new opponent named Black, who has a connection with Goku in the past.

The latest "Dragon Ball" series has gone down the multiverse route, and the new enemy, Black, will be somehow connected to it.

Furthermore, Future Trunks is from the ravaged version of Earth where Goku and the other warriors were killed by the androids. His return will mean a lot to the fans of the show as his return usually foreshadows major twists in the storylines.

Meanwhile, another episode fans will have to look out for is episode 48, which will focus more on Goku ad Vegeta's fusion.

Episode 47 dubbed "SOS from the Future! A New Black Enemy Reveals Himself!" will air June 12 in Japan on Fuji TV.
