'Dragon Ball Super' episode 56 spoilers, news: Vegeta and Goku face Black; fans hoping for a different end to the battle scene

(Facebook/Dragon Ball Super)Black Goku reveals Super Saiyan Rose form.

Fans are ready for action after the uneventful meeting between Goku and the Omni-King. But will the upcoming fight against Black end in victory for the Saiyans?

There was a short wait between episodes as "Dragon Ball Super" gave way to the Olympics. Unfortunately, episode 55 felt more like a filler to a lot of fans as it revolved around Goku's meeting with the Omni-King. As it turns out, all the powerful being wanted was someone to play with. Viewers were also given more hints that Zamasu might be Black Goku before ending with Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks travelling to the future.

Now that the three warriors are in Future Trunks' timeline, fans are hoping that the story's pace will pick up as episode 56 will find Future Trunks back home, accompanied by his father and Goku. The three warriors will meet the Resistance and encounter someone unexpected in one of Earth's destroyed cities.

The trailer for the upcoming episode, dubbed "Black Goku Rematch! Super Saiyan Rose Appears!," unfolds with Future Trunks and Mai reunited and Black wreaking havoc again. Vegeta in Super Saiyan Blue form is seen going up against Black. The Saiyan Prince gets some hits, but Black doesn't seem affected by it. Viewers are also given a glimpse of Black's new form — the so-called Super Saiyan Rose. Black's stance and the length of his hair remained the same, except that instead of the gold or blue aura of Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Blue, the aura is a mix of pink and purple. The clip ends with Goku and Vegeta powered up to Super Saiyan Blue and facing off against Black.

There's no word yet on who the unexpected person that Goku and Vegeta will encounter is, but there was a quick shot of Yajirobe in the trailer, so the two might meet be surprised to see the samurai in the future.

While the trailer did show a battle between Vegeta and Black Goku, fans are hoping that the fight won't follow the usual "Dragon Ball" trope of Vegeta fighting and getting beaten before Goku steps in to save the day. More fans are hoping that the anime will change things up a bit, perhaps put even more focus on Future Trunks and have him save the day. After all, this is his story arc.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 56 will be aired on Fuji TV on Aug. 28 at 9 a.m.
