'Dragon Ball Super' premiere date due in July; will come with new mysterious villain

News about "Dragon Ball" has been doing the rounds lately, with the announcement of the North America release for the movie "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" and the confirmation of the release date of the new "Dragon Ball" TV series'.

The release date for the upcoming TV series "Dragon Ball Super" has been finally announced, much to the anticipation and excitement of the show's avid fans. The show, which will be aired on Fuji TV, will be the latest appearance of the long running series on the small screen after going off air for over eighteen years.

There has been considerable hype surrounding the revival of "Dragon Ball" on television, mainly because the series was written by the famed creator, Akira Toriyama.

There is very less information about the upcoming premiere, though "Dragon Ball Super" is said to be set in a period following the defeat of Majin Bu with peace time being enjoyed worldwide.

Recently, an official website and Twitter page was created for the show and since then, a brief description has been released about what fans can expect from the upcoming premiere. Both the website and the show's Twitter account are in Japanese. Thankfully, Attackofthefanboy.com has translated a tweet saying:

"The release of the TV series Dragon Ball Super based on the Akira Toriyama story begins this July. After the meeting with the God of Destruction, Beerus who had awakened from a long sleep, and after Frieza's resurrection who was once feared as the "emperor of the universe". An even more mysterious character now comes into play."

The update has led fans to assume that a new villain will be introduced in the show. Since then, a number of theories have surfaced online, with loyal viewers speculating that the new bad guy could probably be a bigger opponent of the protagonists than Frieza and Majin Buu have been in the past.

There are no specific details available about the show, though it is confirmed to air in Japan in July this year.
