The official trailer for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" has been released by Bandai Namco, the publisher of the popular anime and game series developed by Dimps.

Much like its predecessor "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," the game is an action role-playing game (RPG) that allows players to increase their character's strength through combat sequences during battles around the virtual city of Dragon Ball.

To the delight of its international fans, the sequel will be made available this year and will be compatible with PlayStation 4 (PS4), PC, and Xbox One. However, some reports reveal that fans in Japan might only be having the game on PS4, as the Japanese publication, Famitsu, noticed that the Japanese version of the trailer only included the PS4 logo.

Nonetheless, as the trailer showed, the game is set to challenge players into "protecting the history of Dragon Ball" in order to prevent the destruction of the future of the Dragon Ball universe. According to reports, gamers can expect plenty of gameplay additions and improvements, like a new hub city, and additional characters that can be customized through new character customization options.

"The Dragon Ball franchise is a crown jewel and a perennial fan-favorite of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment's robust anime videogame portfolio and DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 will build upon that illustrious legacy. With DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2, we're working diligently with the DIMPS team to pull out all the stops and push the Dragon Ball videogame experience to new heights," said Eric Hartness, vice president of marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America in a press release.

More information on the second installment of the popular "Dragon Ball" game is set to be revealed at Bandai Namco's demo theaters at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 or E3, which will run from June 14 to 16.
