Duggar family update: Josh Duggar under lawsuit; a spinoff possible

The once respected conservative family of the Duggars is now casted into the fire of various scandals. Rumors have it, though, that — despite these controversies — one of the Duggar siblings will be getting a spinoff following the cancellation of their reality show "19 Kids and Counting."

The eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's children, Josh, is yet in another wrangle, and this time, it has reached the court. Porn star Danica Dillon filed in November 2015 a $500,000 battery lawsuit against the disgraced "family values" advocate.

However, as the latest report on the case (via Radar Online), Duggar may win the suit. Court documents obtained by the news site revealed that Jeffrey Conrad, Duggar's lawyer, claimed that the adult film star failed to provide information essential to proving her allegations against the reality star.

The lawyer further accused Dillon of being busy socializing and publicizing herself rather than focusing on providing proof of her encounters with Duggar.

Before the lawsuit, Josh Duggar had been in a couple of scandals. In May 2015, In Touch Magazine first reported that he molested five minor girls when he was 14 years old. Subsequent reports revealed afterwards that the five minors involved in his child molestation case included four of his own sisters, two of them are Jessa and Jill.

In August, after it was revealed that he owned an account on an infidelity website Ashley Madison, he admitted in a statement published on the Duggar family website that he cheated on his wife.

In July 2015, TLC cancelled "19 Kids and Counting" amidst Josh Duggar's child molestation scandal. But the remaining fans of the show may be seeing them back on TV as a spinoff could be on the way.

Nancy Daniels, TLC's executive vice president and general manager, disclosed during the Television Critics Association press tour, "We just aired the three specials during the holidays. They did very well. The audience clearly cares about these girls. We're still talking and considering it, but we have not made a decision yet."
