For Canada and El Salvador, their CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament begins with a meeting at StubHub Center for a Group B battle.

The match is on July 8, 2015 at 10:30 PM ET.

Right after a previous Group B match between Costa Rica and Jamaica, the two competing teams will try and get a good start with a victory.

El Salvador recently broke their five match winless run with a 4-1 thrashing of St. Kitts and Nevis in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Before that win, they lost to Argentina, Honduras and Chile in friendlies, while drawing against Guatemala and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Now they will look to build a winning streak at the expense of Canada in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

It has been six years since the last two teams met, which was also in a Gold Cup tournament where Canada beat El Salvador 1-0 in the group stages.

Surely, El Salvador will still have that in mind as they face-off as they try to get some revenge and climb up the rankings in the table as well.

Meanwhile, Canada are on an impressive streak -- winning their last four matches across all competitions.

Two of those wins were friendlies against Guatemala and Dominica, while the last two were FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Dominica.

Most impressive is that in those wins, Canada did not concede a single goal, all while forcing a total of 10 goals to show their offensive prowess.

With those four wins, Canada now hold only two losses in their last 11 across all competitions.

They have the momentum and form to try and outplay El Salvador early in the competition as they are co-hosts and should make a good impression in the tournament.
