'Elder Scrolls 6' release date: Bethesda's focus on new extension for 'Elder Scrolls Online' diminishes chances of 'Elder Scrolls 6' reveal at E3

The 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is just a couple of weeks away and fans are eagerly awaiting Bethesda Softworks' first ever E3 press conference. Bethesda is expected to reveal its lineup of game titles at the conference, including an RPG title. Fans are hoping that the title to be revealed will be "Elder Scrolls 6" although the recent news about "Elder Scrolls Online" makes it less likely.

Recently, Ecumenical News had reported about a new extension to ESO called "Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited." The extension offers significant improvements to the MMORPG's leveling system and in-game purchase house. Due to be released on June 9 for XBOX One and PS4, the new development for ESO could mean that Bethesda is focusing on perfecting it's online offering of "Elder Scrolls" instead of working on the next solo sequel.

The name "Argonia" has been rumored to be the new title for the sixth installment of "Elder Scrolls". Previous reports have pointed to the name "Redguard" due to an unused trademark by Bethesda. "Argonia", also known as the Black Marsh and Garbage Heap of Tamriel, is one of the nine Provinces of Tamriel and is filled with great inland waterways and impenetrable swamps.

According to an article by Master Herald, an alleged leak from Bethesda's offices had stated that the much awaited RPG sequel is already under development and is scheduled to be released in March 2016. However, Bethesda has remained silent about the developments regarding the sequel. Fans are still hoping for a reveal at Bethesda's pre-E3 2015 press conference, which kicks off on June 14.

"The Elder Scrolls" is a series of action role-playing open world fantasy video games developed by Bethesday Games Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The third, fourth and fifth installment of the game entitled "Morrowind", "Oblivion" and "Skyrim" respectively, have all won Game of the Year awards from multiple outlets.
