Details of the development of "Elder Scrolls 6" or "Skyrim 2" have been kept under wraps; it isn't even known if the game will indeed be Bethesda's next project; but according to new reports, an announcement about the game will be dropped at the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

Will Bethesda finally launch a new installment to the "Elder Scrolls" franchise this June?

The Maryland-based company recently announced its participation in this year's E3 conference. Bethesda posted on Twitter last month about their E3 briefing, which will take place on Jun. 12.

The company didn't give any details about what they will be talking about at the briefing, but the post included an image that referenced their game titles, "Fallout" and "Elder Scrolls," among others. Speculations are rife that the company will indeed make an important announcement regarding the "Elder Scrolls" series.

"Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" is the company's latest installment to the franchise and it was released in 2011. Fans have been waiting patiently for an announcement about its sequel. So far, there was none from the company and Bethesda Public Relations and Marketing Vice President Pete Hines explained why.

"We're not the sort of publisher that focuses on 'what's our 25 titles for 2015'," Hines told The Telegraph last year.

"We do smaller stuff, we don't publish to scale, we try to publish to quality. Make sure everything we do is noteworthy," he added.

With that said, it's unlikely that the company will release a new "Elder Scrolls" game at the upcoming games event. Bethesda is currently enjoying the success of its other hit title, "Fallout 4," and the company is likely focusing more on developing post-release content.

In relation to this, since the "Fallout 5" rumors broke out, some even speculated that development plans for "Skyrim 2" will be put on hold.

Fans of the "Elder Scrolls" series will just have to wait for further announcement regarding the exact release of "Skyrim 2."
