Electoral college map 2016 predictions, latest news: Hillary Clinton may be leading the race

(Reuters/Lucy Nicholson)Hillary Clinton seems to be leading the presidential race.

There are a lot of predictions for the upcoming election and it seems that Hillary Clinton is the one leading in the electoral map. Donald Trump also looks llike he is struggling to gain more ratings, and it also appears that the state of Georgia will lean more toward Clinton.

According to reports, Trump may be at his lowest point during the whole span of his campaign. This means he needs to assert more effort in campaigning before the presidential election commences. However, there is still a chance for the Republican candidate to gain an upper hand in his political position if they win vital battleground states.

As for Clinton, it seems that she may be leading in the 2016 presidential race. The Democratic candidate also appears to have gained an advantage when they started moving to the battleground states. As stated in a report from CNN, Florida and Nevada seem to be leaning toward the side of the Democrats. Winning more states for Clinton will not stop there as she and her team also target Georgia, Missouri and Indiana.

Moreover, Arizona was one of the states leaning to the Republicans, but it seems that the state may have changed its direction which turns them into a battleground state once again. If the current results of the electoral map are summarized, Clinton's electoral votes will have an overall result of 307. Those digits are more than enough since the number exceeds the 270 required votes needed to win the race.

On the other hand, Trump has a total of 179 electoral votes and these consist of states solidly for or leaning to the Republicans. The battleground states that are still to be won by the parties are Arizona, Ohio, North Carolina, Utah, Maine's 2nd Congressional District, and the 2nd Congressional District of Nebraska. Their votes total up to 52 electoral votes.

However, even if Trump wins the remaining battleground states, it's possible that it may not be enough to overcome the Democrats led by Clinton.
