'Empire' season 3 spoilers, cast: Sierra McClain joins cast as Shyne's protégé
Filming has officially started for "Empire" season three and it has been confirmed that another new face has been tapped to join the musical drama: Sierra McClain.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, McClain will be joining the cast for a recurring role. She will play the role of Nessa, who appears to be a shy but laid-back gal. Though she is a timid girl who only follows Shyne (Xzibit) around, Lucious (Terrence Howard) will find something in her that will want him to get her into Empire.
It turns out that the bashful lady is a precious gem. She has a voice that can be categorized under the powerhouse singers of Empire. There's not much known about Ness just yet but fans can expect to see Shyne battling it out with Lucious so Ness can stay with his company.
McClain has shared the news to her Instagram followers:
Meanwhile, Lucious isn't backing down on his bitter and long-running feud with Shyne.
Entertainment Weekly also recently confirmed that French Montana has joined the star-studded cast.
Montana will play Vaughn, one of Lucious' loyal and dependable men. However, Vaughn will have thoughts of his own and being a music mogul just like Lucious, he might turn out to be a traitor.
There is so much drama for Lucious when "Empire" season three hits small screens. Aside from his battle with Shyne, there's also the return of Tariq (Morocco Omari), who will most likely keep trying to take his brother down.
Another issue that the Lyon head will surely have to face is Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) revenge (if she decides to bounce back) after what she was put through with Lucious' marriage to Anika (Grace Gealey).
Plus, it's not just Cookie who was greatly affected by the sham wedding. Speaking with TV Guide in May, producer Sanaa Hamri teased on a potential second round of bouts between Lucious and his son Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray).
When asked if Lucious' marriage to Anika will once again spur the rivalry between father and son, Hamri said, "I would definitely say so. Hakeem is learning very hard lessons...He wants to do the right thing but he's entangled in Lucious' web. He can easily turn on Lucious as we've seen in the past."
How will Lucious handle all the family and work drama? Find out when "Empire" season three premieres on September 21 on FOX.
