Episcopal Publishing Arm Forms Partnership With 'Spiritual Guidance' Website

The publishing arm of the Episcopal Church and a non-profit "spiritual guidance" website recently formed a distribution and marketing partnership to benefit their constituents.

The agreement between Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI) and explorefaith.org was finalized last week, with the first joint project between the two organizations being an editorial calendar for product promotions and content features to appear on explorefaith.org. Other areas being explored by the collaborative team include the use of external marketing applications, such as blogs and podcasts, and cost-effective methods for promoting authors, contributors, readers and special interests groups in both companies.

"A publisher today must strive to present content outside of its most immediate channels and provide access for readers both within and beyond its natural audiences," said Dr. Davis Perkins, CPI Publisher. "Therefore, we're delighted to be partnering with an online powerhouse like explorefaith.org, which in the past year alone has recorded 2,094,657 total visits, with an average of nearly 6,000 unique visitors per day."

"This is an exciting new venture for both us, one that will provide not only rich editorial resources for explorefaith such as book reviews, serializations, author interviews, and seasonally relevant resources, but will extend as well into CPI's splendid faith formation and curriculum programs," said Dorothy McClure, director of outreach and development for explorefaith.org. "For example, explorefaith will help develop editorial content for riteformation, CPI's new digital resource package for clergy and Christian educators, plus will become a distribution partner for this new online e-product."
