Fallout 4 release date: Anticipated sequel could launch in 2015

(Bethesda)

There is a huge chance that Bethesda is releasing Fallout 4 this 2015.

If eager fans are going to base on the traditional timeline Bethesda follows when unveiling new games, it's very likely that the sequel to Fallout 3 is coming this year. The company has been known to develop games in three to four years cycle and since the last game released, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, was back in 2011, it's safe to deduce that the team has been busy with Fallout 4 since that time and 2015 is an ideal date for a release.

This speculation is backed by a Gameranx report, with information from a MrMattyPlays, who regularly posts Fallout-related videos.

Bitbag also revealed similar information, saying that the game is most likely to be announced during E3 2015, an event that happens in June 2015.

Based on the different speculations, it seems very probable that Fallout 4 is coming to stores this year. It's only a matter of figuring out the exact release date.

There are many speculations about the newest version of the popular post-apocalyptic RPG. One that concerns many fans is the setting. Rumors have been circulating that China could be a possible setting. It's been a quite popular topic in Reddit.

But leaked documents say otherwise. Reports say that the setting is Boston, in MIT laboratories where Android Robots are created.

Interestingly, Bethesda hasn't confirmed nor denied rumors about the location of Fallout 4.

Another major topic is the use of a new engine. Early rumors hint on the use of a new engine but could turn out to be false. Reports say that Fallout 4 will be using an updated version of Skyrim's game engine, which is the Creation Engine.

An interview with Pete Hines, vice president for PR, confirms this. He said that Bethesda will be taking advantage of whatever new developments or technology that Creation Engine will have for Skyrim.

There's just one problem, however. Creation Engine's graphics don't exactly look good in Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
