Fargo season 2 spoilers: Plot features yet-to-be-cast Ronald Reagan

The second season of Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Awards winning comedy show, Fargo, will hit the screens later this year on FX. The channel's President, John Landgraf, declared at the Los Angeles TCA press tour:

"It's about a time of cultural change. It takes place with Ronald Reagan's campaign as a backdrop".

Yes, Landgraf confirmed that Fargo Season 2 will have Reagan as a character, but who will act his part in the dark comedy, has not been declared yet.

Ted Danson, Brad Garrett, Nick Offerman, Jean Smart, Jeffrey Donovan, Bokeem Woodbine and Kieran Culkin are the new faces in Fargo Season 2.

Danson will play the father-in-law of Solverson, Garrett, a Kansas mobster with Woodbine as his enforcer and Offerman will be seen in the role of a conman and lawyer.

Jean Smart will play the Fargo Crime matriarch, Floyd Gerhardt, and the mother of Dodd, Rye and Bear. The cast has been confirmed by the FX President to Postmedia TV.

Patrick Wilson is replacing Keith Carradine's Lou Solverson, the State Police Officer who has recently come back from war in 1979. Fans will have to wait till this fall to find out if Wilson can 'conjure' his viewers in this new role.

As far as the storyline of Fargo Season 2 is concerned, it revolves around the life of a small-town couple who get caught up in the war of two syndicates with an additional crime syndicate. The couple will be called Peggy and Ed Blomquist and will be played by Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons.

Landgraf reveals that despite the 'comedic' approach, the show will include dramatic elements and deal with serious issues like feminism.

The shoot has already started on January 19 in Calgary and FX is reportedly looking for cars made during the 1962 to 1979 time frame to use on the show!
