Actor Vin Diesel, who plays the character of Dominic Toretto in one of the most popular and enduring motion-picture series of all time, "Fast and Furious," will definitely go off-character in the latest instalment, "Fast and Furious 8: Fate of the Furious" as he turns his back on the team which he considers family.

Diesel, on his Instagram account, revealed that Dom will be involved in a relationship so dangerous that it will challenge him to the core.

"The faith of the fans will be truly tested like never before," Diesel added.

"Dominic Toretto just went rouge," said Luke Hobbs, played by actor Dwayne Johnson, in the film's official trailer.

According to Universal Pictures, Oscar winner Charlize Theron will be added to the cast, playing the role of a mysterious woman, Cipher. This new character will be seen as the reason for Dom's betrayal of his family.

The official trailer gives a hint that Dom was only forced to go against his family. As Cipher tells Dom, "I think I need to remind you why you chose to do this," Dom retorts, "I got no choice."

IGN also reveals that another academy-award winner actress, Helen Mirren, asked to join the cast of the upcoming movie sequel of the very successful "Fast and Furious" movie franchise.

Mirren will star as the mother of brothers Owen and Deckard Shaw (played by Luke Evans and Jason Statham, respectively). Although Mirren kept her silence with regard to her role in the movie, this information was disclosed by Evans himself in an interview with Yahoo! Movies.

"He's in a military hospital because he's the most wanted man in the world," Evans said in answer to the question on whether his character would come out from coma in the new "Fast" film. "But he's got a very powerful brother and he's now got a mum as well, who's played by Helen Mirren," he also said, adding, "Who knows?"

Fans are also contemplating on Mirren's role being linked to Dom's betrayal.

She, however, earlier told Variety, "I had always had a secret hankering to do "Fast and Furious" because I love driving cars. Of course, when I finally got my chance, I wasn't driving the bloody car. I was in the back of an ambulance with Jason Statham."

"Fast and Furious 8: Fate of the Furious" will open in theaters on April 14.
