'Final Fantasy 15' news: One of RPG's mighty optional bosses is Square Enix's CEO

"Final Fantasy 7" brought players the Emerald and Ruby Weapons. "Final Fantasy 10" had Penance. And now, "Final Fantasy 15" is trying to outdo those games by introducing a truly unconventional optional boss.

Fans have likely already caught a glimpse of that strange boss fight that featured Noctis going up against Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda.

For those who haven't seen it yet, they can catch a glimpse of it at around the 3-hour mark of the video below.

The good news is that players will be able to take on Mr. Matsuda themselves.

Director Hajime Tabata talked about the special boss fight during a recent Famitsu livestream, Games Talk reported.

Gematsu provided a translation of that report, and apparently, the Matsuda fight will be added to "Final Fantasy 15" as downloadable content.

The boss fight figures to be a tough one, or at the very least a surreal one, for long-time fans of the role-playing game franchise.

It's still unclear when the DLC pack containing the Matsuda fight will be released for the game.

Other DLC packs coming to the recently released RPG will provide special additions themselves.

Square Enix detailed the upcoming DLC packs earlier this year and Siliconera provided helpful translations of their descriptions.

Three of the listed DLC packs will feature story-based content focused on Noctis' companions Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto. These story add-ons will also allow players to control the three men over the course of playing through their specific DLC episodes.

There's also a "Booster Pack" that adds more weapons and an expansion pack that's yet to be detailed completely.

Exact release dates for the aforementioned DLC packs have yet to be announced.

One more DLC pack – the "Holiday Pack" – is set to be released before the end of 2016 and it will bring some interesting additions, including New Game Plus.

More news about the DLC packs coming to "Final Fantasy 15" should be made available soon.
