'Final Fantasy 7' remake rumors: game will not be compatible with Nintendo NX

(Final Fantasy 7 Official)The reboot of "Final Fantasy 7" is said not be compatible with Nintendo NX.

Although it was initially reported that the upcoming "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be available for Nintendo NX, the latest in the rumor mill is that Square Enix, the developer of the game, is not planning to release the rebooted version of the popular game to the said console.

According to reports, the upcoming game will not be made compatible with Nintendo NX for still unknown reasons. However, as there is no official word that can claim the veracity of the said report, everything must be taken with a grain of salt at this point in time, and hope may not be lost at all for owners of the said Nintendo console.

For the time being, the only confirmed piece of information is that the reboot of "Final Fantasy 7" is slowly taking shape. In an exclusive interview of Kingdom Hearts Insider with the game's director Tetsuya Nomura, it has been revealed that speculations claiming that the reboot has already been scrapped are all baseless as the game is already in development.

"I know I haven't given any information in a while, but please rest assured that work is moving forward steadily. We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we've done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it. I am looking forward to the reveals myself," Nomura disclosed in an interview with Kingdom Hearts Insider in June.

The reboot of "Final Fantasy 7" was announced at last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), but news about it has been elusive since its reveal. However, fans anticipating the reboot of the game may learn more about it next month as Nomura insinuated that details about it may be dropped at "Kingdom Hearts" concert and at the Dissidia Final Fantasy tournament, which are both happening next month.

"I plan to start bringing more to light little by little, so I thank you in advance for your continued support," added Nomura.
