'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' rumors: First episode of new RPG reportedly set to come out next year

(Square Enix)'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' also rumored to be released for the PC in 2018

The "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is arguably Square Enix's most eagerly anticipated currently in-development title, and now, a new rumor is hinting that fans may be able to play this game as soon as next year.

According to a new report from VG Leaks, the first episode of the remake is set to be released next year.

The first episode of the highly coveted game will reportedly be made available next year as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of "Final Fantasy's" debut.

The long-running role-playing game franchise burst onto the scene way back in December of 1987, and while the report did not mention any specific month for the remake's arrival, developers could really pay tribute to the rich history of this series by going down that route again.

During an earlier interview with Game Informer, producer Yoshinori Kitase shared that each episode of the remake will be a "full-scale game."

Kitase also noted that he and the other developers already have an idea of how many installments the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" may encompass, though he did add that things could still change as they proceed further into development.

Rumors swirling around the remake have previously hinted that the different installments could be released yearly, though the folks over at Square Enix have not confirmed this.

Aside from indicating that the first episode of the remake will be released next year, the VG Leaks report also noted that the game will eventually make its way to the PC.

Specifically, the report indicated that the remake as well as "Final Fantasy 15" will be released for the PC around the early-mid portion of 2018.

New details about the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" have been hard to come by recently, but if these rumors are accurate, then fans may be able to start hearing more about the game sooner rather than later.
