While the development for the remake of "Final Fantasy 7" is ongoing, there are rumors and speculations that Square Enix might release a bundled version of the game in 2019. These pieces of news came although it has already been previously announced that the game will be divided into three episodes.

According to Crossmap, it is most likely that the Playstation 4 version of the game will be released in 2017 while the future episodes will be available in 2018. Hence, it is also possible that in 2019, a bundled version will be released.

Meanwhile, game producer Yoshinori Kitase gave teasers that the game will be more action-packed but will also undergo some changes. He added that the Square Enix developers have already agreed on the number of installments the game will have, although they are still open to suggestions.

Kitase said, "We do have an idea on the project side in terms of how many installments it may consist of, but unfortunately, we can't share that at the moment. Of course, as we're creating and developing the scenario and the stories, these are things that move in real time. So, the plan may change along the way."

On the other hand, director Tetsuya Nomura said that "Dissidia" best represents "Final Fantasy" in terms of contemporary landscape. Kitase confirms this by saying that the gameplay and the visuals will surely get inspiration from "Dissidia." However, it will be less action-based compared to the former.

In a NeoGAF forum, a user named Philippo commented that Square Enix should model its release to "Final Fantasy XIII" which was released in three episodes. This means that the game will have more than 30 hours of RPG. He also added that although fans should not expect any big changes in the remake, each episode will have the size of an "FFVII" game.
