'Final Fantasy 7: Remake' release date: game could be divided into full-length titles

(Square Enix)It was reported that "Final Fantasy VII: Remake" will be broken down into full-length titles and could be released either late next year or early 2018.

Game developer Square Enix will have a busy schedule in the following months as it recently showcased its new titles at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. Upcoming games, such as the "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," "Final Fantasy XV," and some low profile but newsworthy titles, have been unveiled to the fans. However, the game developer never mentioned anything about the development of "Final Fantasy VII: Remake."

As fans can remember, Square Enix already announced at E3 2015 that it is planning to remake the mentioned "Final Fantasy" game that made true-blue fans excited and high with anticipation. However, they find it puzzling now that "Final Fantasy VII" was a no-show at this year's E3.

In an interview with Japanese gaming website Famitsu, Square Enix's game designer and director Tetsuya Nomura said that the game is set to be released next year. However, Nomura revealed that they're nowhere near the game's final stages of development. Hence, it is safe to assume that "Final Fantasy VII: Remake" might be out in the latter parts of 2017 or sometime around the first quarter of 2018.

Furthermore, as previously reported, the game might be broken down into several full-length games, just like what the developers did to "Final Fantasy XIII" where it was divided into three episodes, a clever marketing strategy for Square Enix.

Now that the developers somewhat gave a heads-up on how massive the game will be, fans might be wondering as to what extent the developers have changed in the game in terms of gameplay and its storyline. Having said this, it's clear that Square Enix is really serious in developing one of the most ambitious "Final Fantasy" episodes yet.

Meanwhile, fans will just have to wait a bit longer, maybe a year or two, for "Final Fantasy VII: Remake" to be finally released.
