Morning is the best time to pray. Not only does it follow God's command to seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33), it is also a manifestation of your humble desire to prioritize Him and offer the day to His service. Besides, studies also find a correlation between morning prayers and a positive outlook.

Most psychologists agree it is innate for man to be in touch with his spiritual side. Meaning, it is but natural for us to believe in the existence of a divine power that is greater than us and whom we should serve. Christians are in a fortunate position, as we know who to believe in, who to worship and who pray to.

If you just decided to renew your commitment to God, you will feel the urge to talk to Him first thing in the morning. Embrace that desire and act on it. The best way to begin the day is through morning prayers. If you want to start right, here are five things to pray for.

Give thanks

Be thankful for all the blessings you enjoy. Thank God for watching over you throughout your life and leading you to this point of serving Him. Be grateful for your wonderful family, your good health, your beautiful home, your stable job, your talents and friends.

Family

Pray for your family's safety and success. Pray also for your extended families that they may be able to find God, so they too can feel the peace and joy that you experience.

Health

Request the Lord for good health to enable you and your family to serve Him. Pray for healing for your sick relatives and friends.

Work

Ask God to bless your work and make you successful so His glory will be manifested through you. Pray for the company that you work for along with your colleagues and superiors. Be willing to be a light in your workplace.

Government

1Timothy 2:2 tells us that we should pray for our leaders that they may be guided by God and enlightened in enforcing policies that would affect everyone. Pray for your fellowmen that they will have the conviction to turn to God, so that blessings may pour forth on your nation (2Chronicles 7:14).
