Aside from the fact that "Frozen" was one of 2013's biggest blockbuster hit, reports have recently surfaced claiming that merchandise sales of the movie have outsold Barbie. So it really is unsurprising that fans would be treated to another Elsa and Anna adventure.

The making of "Frozen 2" was announced last March by Disney's Chief Creative Officer, John Lasseter. He said:

"We enjoyed making "Frozen Fever" so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

The news of the movie getting a sequel has since spread like wildfire and just as unsurprisingly, fans of the animated flick have began drawing up theories of what "Frozen" has in store for them. So what is to expect from the upcoming "Frozen" sequel?

Disney production has been keeping most of the details of the movie under wraps, however, some very interesting speculations can already be found online.

One rumor claims that the sequel would focus on Elsa's background story; finally answering questions about her powers. The speculation was only fueled by recent news that Eva Bella, the girl playing young Elsa, has signed on to "Frozen 2."

While the backstory plot has yet to be confirmed, a recent interview with Josh Gad, the actor who voice snowman, Olaf, teased fans saying that the upcoming movie is nothing short of wonderful.

"It's already been announced and I know that they're actively developing it. I think it's still a bit away. I think that the creative team is really taking their time to define how to top that story. The more I hear about it, the more excited I'm getting and I think it's going to be wonderful."

"Frozen 2" is expected to be released on 2018.
