'Frozen 2' release date, news, rumors: Is Idina Menzel getting replaced?

(Facebook/Frozen)Will Idina Menzel reprise her role as Queen Elsa in 'Frozen 2?'

As Disney remains quiet on the developments for "Frozen 2," new rumors are churning around Idina Menzel's alleged decision to quit the highly anticipated sequel.

Recent reports suggest that the actress, who voiced Queen Elsa in the first movie, will no longer be reprising her role in the sequel since she is busy preparing for her upcoming wedding. Menzel announced her engagement to Aaron Lohr late September and fans have showered her with their blessings and support.

However, the rumors about her alleged exit from "Frozen 2" are making some fans anxious about how the upcoming film will deliver. Menzel sang the first film's hit and multi-award winning single "Let It Go." Fans initially expected that she would return to sing another record-breaking song for the sequel but the speculations are getting them worried.

It is further speculated that Demi Lovato may replace Menzel as Elsa since she has also rendered her own version of "Let It Go." However, not everybody is pleased with the news. Some moviegoers and music lovers still believe that Menzel should keep playing Queen Elsa in "Frozen 2."

While the rumors keep going on online, Menzel has not made an official announcement about quitting the movie. She may be busy with the plans for her wedding but fans should take the rumors with a grain of salt until Menzel or Disney announces her departure.

Meanwhile, it is said that Kristen Bell will return to voice Princess Anna and Josh Gad will reprise his role as the sweet and outgoing snowman, Olaf.

Rumor has it that Olaf will finally find true love in "Frozen 2." Fans are particularly excited about this possible plot since Olaf absolutely deserves a happy ending just like Princess Anna did in the first movie.

If Olaf will find happiness in someone special, it will be outrageous to not see Queen Elsa be in the same boat as well. It can be safe to assume that "Frozen 2" will introduce a love interest not just for Olaf but also for the Queen of Arendelle.

"Frozen 2" is expected to be released sometime late 2018.
