Preparing for the Galaxy Note 4 release date, US carriers Sprint and T-Mobile are opening the gates for pre-orders of the new Samsung flagship device that features updated specs.

"Ready for pre-order! The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is bringing a fresh new look to life as we live it, and the world is taking note. With a large QUAD HD display, powerful camera and multitasking tools galore, the Note 4 delivers more for you – whatever you do. And for a limited time, trade in your old phone through Sprint Buyback and Samsung will match its trade-in value, up to $200* when you pre-order the Note 4," Sprint writes on its pre-order page.

Sprint offers $349.99 for a two-year service agreement and $0 cash out for a $30/month contract for 24 months.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile offers Galaxy Note 4 for a full retail price of $749.76 or $0 upfront for $31/month 24 months contract.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 16MP rear-facing camera, 3.7MP front-facing camera for better selfies and Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

The latest device in the Note series also features the Note-ubiquitous S Pen and will be pairable with Samsung Gear VR, the virtual reality headset from Oculus.

The South Korean tech titan is very positive that this new super phablet will quickly turn things around for their mobile business.

"Samsung Electronics President D.J. Lee, speaking at a press conference, also said the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone will likely show significantly better sales than its predecessor, noting stronger pre-orders so far. He didn't offer specifics such as a sales target," Reuters reported.

There is no doubt that Samsung needs to pull the trigger and launch an iPhone 6 killer.

Samsung Galaxy S5 may still look good, but with the iPhone 6 Apple unwrapped a genuinely promising smartphone that has now sold 10 million units in less than two weeks.

Plus, the holiday season is just around the corner.

With other players like LG, Motorola and HTC beefing up their arsenals too, Samsung puts its hope on the Galaxy Note 4 release date on Oct. 17.
