Samsung will unleash the Galaxy Note 4 on a Oct. 17 release date in the US, but pre-orders starts as early as today, Sept. 19, coinciding with the launch of Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

To sweeten the spot, the South Korean tech giant is offering a guaranteed $200 trade-in on working smartphones swapped for the newest flagship phablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which was revealed to the public last September, is the fourth installment in the popular Galaxy Note series.

"The Note 4 is key to a recovery by Samsung Electronics, which faced initial derision at the idea of callers holding elephantine screens up to their ears. Since the Note's introduction in 2011, it has made 5-inch and larger screen sizes the standard for high-end phones as usage shifted overwhelmingly to reading and writing texts and emails or documents, using apps, watching movies or playing games rather than calling," Reuters reported.

Galaxy Note 4 features a stunning 5.7-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 display, S Pen stylus, fingerprint sensor technology, 32 GB with 3 GB RAM, 16 MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, 3.7 MP secondary camera, a variety of sensors and 3,220 mAh battery.

The S Pen's comeback is one of the most anticipated features of the phablet.

"S Pen offers an improved digital handwriting experience
through enhanced pressure sensitivity. Enrich you writing through more precise expression,"
according to the product description of Galaxy Note 4.

The high-end flagship is also expected to carry improved processing speed with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

The phablet will be available in four colors: Frost White, Charcoal Black, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink.

Aside from Galaxy Note 4, Samsung has just also unwrapped a virtual reality headset – the Samsung Gear VR Innovation Edition and "Swarovski for Samsung" collection for Samsung Gear S.

Samsung Gear VR Innovation Edition, which uses Oculus VR technology, will be paired with the upcoming Galaxy Note 4.
