Many people prefer the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 as it is a great phablet with a stylus to boot. However, this year, the competition has come in the form of a smaller device that released recently, the HTC 10, and this is how these two compare in a face-off.

Design

Here, the HTC 10 is a better-looking device as it has a full metal body and its edges have a shiny ridge that gives it a great look. However, the device has antenna lines on its back and there is a fingerprint scanner incorporated into its home button. As for colors, the device comes in silver, gray, and gold. Coming to the Note 5, it has a metal frame and its back panel is made from glass so it is not as sturdy as its competitor. The big advantage with the Note 5 is that it has a stylus that can be used to write or draw on the screen. As for its fingerprint scanner, it is also included in the home button and the device comes in silver, white, gold, and black.

Display

The display on the Note 5 is bigger and it has a Super AMOLED version measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 518 pixels per inch. As for the HTC 10, it has a Super LCD5 display measuring 5.2 inches and it has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 565 pixels per inch.

Hardware

Here, the HTC 10 is ahead as it comes with a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. As for the Note 5, it has an Exynos 7420 Octa chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

Memory

No memory slot is present on the Note 5 so external storage cannot be added, as for the HTC 10, it comes with a slot that supports up to 200 GB. In terms of RAM, both devices are similar with 4 GB on board.

Camera

Here, the HTC 10 with its 12-megapixel camera is already ranked ahead of the 16-megapixel version on the Note 5 on DxOMark.

Price

With a two-year contract, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is priced at $696 unlocked, while the HTC 10 could have a price of $199 with a two-year contract.
