Samsung Galaxy Note 6 (Note 7) rumors: new phablet unveiled within first few days of August?

The rumored phablet currently known by two possible names, Galaxy Note 6 and Galaxy Note 7, may be set to make its official debut within the first few days of August.

According to a recent tweet from noted tipster Evan Blass, the new phablet's launch event is "almost exactly two months away." Noting that the tweet was sent out on June 2, that could mean that the Note 6 will be revealed not long after the start of August.

Blass also sent out an earlier tweet back in May hinting at when the new phablet may make its way to the U.S. According to that tweet, the Note 6 should be released in the U.S. the week of Aug. 15.

If the contents of the tweets prove to be accurate, then that could mean that Samsung will have a quick turnaround between officially launching the new phablet and subsequently making it widely available.

Aside from potential launch and release dates, rumors from earlier this year have also hinted at what the Galaxy Note 6 could feature.

For instance, Gizmochina was able to share a Weibo post from earlier this year that detailed some of the new device's potential features.

According to the post, the Note 6 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 823 processor and also features a 5.8-inch display. The post also hints at the potential memory offerings of the new phablet, indicating that it could feature 6 GB of RAM as well as 256 GB of internal storage.

Another rumor, one that came from Sam Mobile, also indicated that the new phablet may feature the USB Type-C port upon being released.

Unfortunately, it's still hard to tell if these leaked specs and features are legitimate, though people may find out soon enough.

With a potential early-August launch looming, people may finally find out more official details about the Galaxy Note 6 very soon.
