It is no secret that the market for tablets has been cooling worldwide. This has resulted in sales falling for most of the world's top brands in the market including the iPad lineup but this has not dissuaded Samsung from enhancing its offerings. Recently, the company brought out a 7-inch version without any fanfare in Europe.

The newest entrant in Samsung's tablet lineup is a 7-inch model which falls within the Galaxy Tab A brand and SamMobile states that curiously the company did not make a big deal about it when it released. It added that the tablet was quietly brought out on the company's official website in Germany and it arrived with a complete listing of specs and features. Also, as soon as the tablet appeared on Samsung's website, it also became available on several retail sites in Europe with a price tag of €169.

There are also indications that Samsung is planning to market the 7-inch tablet as the Galaxy Tab E in other countries, particularly the United States. While no official word has arrived about this, Samsung offers both the Galaxy Tab E and the Galaxy Tab A lineup in the United States. Therefore, it would not be surprising if it decided to market the tablet under a different name and with slightly modified hardware and design.

Last year, Samsung brought out two tablets as part of the Galaxy Tab A lineup, one of which has a 8-inch display while the bigger model has a 9.7-inch display. At the beginning of this year, there were rumors that the Korean manufacturer planned to improve on this offering with a smaller 7-inch model and images of it were leaked on the Internet. Now that the Galaxy Tab A (2016) 7-inch model has arrived, it is clear that the company plans to add more offerings to its mid range and budget tablet lineup.

As for the specs of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab A, it comes with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1.5 GB of RAM. It has a 5 megapixel camera at its rear, 8 GB of onboard storage and a 4,000 mAh battery.
