Ever since it was announced in July, the Galaxy Tab s2 has been one of the most anticipated new devices from Android leader, Samsung. Now, the South Korean company released the official specs of the latest Galaxy Tab S device and has finally opened it for pre-order.

Though information about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 had not been scant since its reveal, it's the first time that Samsung updated the page for the new slate and included key specs. The Tab S2, set for release in a few days, is one of the slimmest and lightest tablets available, with the bigger version even bearing less weight than Apple's iPad Air (the Air 2 weighs 0.96 pounds, while the Tab S2's 9.7-inch variant only weighs 0.82 pounds).

The Tab S2 sells in two different variations — 8-inch and 9.7-inch display, WiFi only or with LTE capability. Each will be available in gold, black, and white.

The Samsung page listed the tab's key specs which includes a super AMOLED display, Exynos Octa-core processor, Quick Connect, and SideSync. Quick Connect allows the tablet to stream content to any compatible Samsung TV, which the site says will be the 2015 and beyond Smart TV. SideSync, on the other hand, had been in previous models and allows the synchronization of the tablet with other Samsung phones and the PC.

Storage is also something that the upcoming device boasts of. Each variant will ship with a built-in 32 GB storage and a microSD card slot, which can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi version is now available for pre-order on the Samsung website. It will retail in stores come Sept. 3. Pricing is as follows: $399.99 for the 8-inch variant and $499.99 for 9.7-inch. The LTE version will retail later this fall with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon; pricing will vary per carrier.
