As Game of Thrones Season 4 concluded last Sunday, fans are wondering when Episode 1 and the Game of Thrones Season 5 premiere will air. Viewers are eagerly waiting for when can they watch their favorite fantasy drama series on air again.

As it has been in the news earlier this year that the hit drama renewed two seasons, five and six, there are still a lot for fans to look forward to.

Based on the fantasy series by George R.R. Martin, the first episodes of every Game of Thrones season usually premiered in the month of April.

Season 1 - April 17th, 2011; Season 2 – April 1st, 2012; Season 3 – March 31st, 2013, and Season 4 on April 6 this year.

From this pattern, it looks like the Game of Thrones Season 5 premiere will be between March 31 and April 17 next year, according to Mirror.

The series is usually filmed in the second half of the year; its production in the first quarter of the next year and the premiere showing following thereafter.

This year, filming for Season 5 will most likely commence in the fall. There are some mild spoilers below, so be warned.

In Game of Thrones Season 5, fans can expect to see King's Landing, politics and turmoil.

There will be at least 12 new characters like Grand Maester Pyrcelle, Imogen, Varamyr Sixskins, The Waif, Yezzan, Lollys Stokeworth, Maggi the Frog, Septa Unella, High Sparrow, Areo Hotah, Prince Trystane Martell, Tyene Sand, Nymeria Sand, Obara Sand and Prince Doran Martell.

Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, will be back and focus on leadership. According to Harington, his character will become colder and start to lose all the warmth inside of him.

The book author, Martin, has expressed wishes to film more episodes for upcoming seasons, such as 13 episodes, in order to show cut scenes which could make the show richer and deeper.
