Gear Fit 2 release date: specifications leaked in full as release set for June 2

Recently, the rumors about the Gear Fit 2 have been arriving in a steady stream on the Internet, and as a result, almost all aspects of the fitness tracker have been revealed. In the most recent leak, all the specifications were showcased, even as Samsung announced that it would be holding an event soon in which the device could be released.

As for the recent leak about the Gear Fit 2, it was dubbed as a "full specifications" list by SamMobile as it was being reported. More importantly, the leaked specifications clearly indicated that the device would come with a curved Super AMOLED display and it would measure 1.55 inches. It is also expected to have a resolution of 216 x 432 pixels. According to the leaked images of the fitness tracker, the curve on the body and the screen is going be deeper than the previous version and it is going to result in a better fit on the wrist of the wearer.

Coming to the processor on the device, it is thought to be a dual-core version manufactured by Samsung and it will be clocked at 1 GHz. As for RAM, it is going to be around 512 MB while storage onboard will be 2 GB. The device is also expected to have an IP68 certification which means it can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for a period of 30 minutes. The battery on the device is thought to be a 200 mAh version and it is expected to give the fitness tracker enough power to handle day-to-day tracking activities.

The operating system on the Gear Fit 2 is expected to be Tizen 2.3 and the sensors onboard are thought to be a gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and also one for measuring one's heart rate. Also, the upcoming fitness tracker is expected to have GPS and GLONASS.

Even as the full specifications of the Gear Fit 2 were being leaked, news arrived that Samsung has scheduled an event on June 2 in New York. Many expect that the Gear Fit 2 and the wireless earbuds, the IconX, will be launched during the event.
