In an op-ed piece, actor George Clooney fully defends his lawyer fiancée Amal Alamuddin and the religious beliefs of her family after The Daily Mail wrongfully reported a situation that allegedly prevents Alamuddin from marrying the actor.

In a past report, The Daily Mail reported that Amal Alamuddin, the human rights lawyer and fiancée of George Clooney, has troubles with her family regarding the marriage.

In the said piece, The Daily Mail claimed that Alamuddin's mother prevents the marriage because she does not want Alamuddin to marry outside the Druze religion.

It turns out that Alamuddin's mother is not a member of the religion, causing tension and some anger from the actor for having caused Alamuddin's family the unnecessary publicity.

The Daily Mail has released an apology, but the actor doesn't seem to accept it. Clooney has penned his second op-ed piece on USA Today regarding the matter, and it looks like he's far from forgetting what the tabloid did.

There is one constant when a person or company is caught doing something wrong. The coverup is always worse," wrote the Oceans 11 actor in the said USA Today piece.

"In this case, the Daily Mail has printed an apology for insinuating religious tensions where there are none. In the apology, managing editor Charles Garside claims that the article was 'not a fabrication,' but "based the story on conversations with senior members of the Lebanese community," the actor continued.

"I thank the Mail for its apology. Not that I would ever accept it," Clooney firmly rejects in his statement.
